DRACULA RHA

DRACULA

RHA DOWNSTAIRS

Production Concept

Bram Stoker

The Production took place in the RHA Downstairs - a theatre space, stolen from the basement of the RHA Gallagher Gallery in Dublin.

When the Audience entered the theatre, they found themselves standing in the mists of a forest - out of the darkness Dracula appeaerd and ushered them into his castle,

Then they were moved to watch a shipwrecked sailor tell about the arrival of  a "Ship of death"-

They  were then led to a bank of seating to watch Lucy slowly over come by Dracula -

After  the interval they came back into the space to find themselves in a different room, watching Dracula entrance and bite Mina Harker and then finally,  they were ushered back to Dracula's castle to watch his demise.

The Production was sponsored by AN POST (The National postoffice service) - who were launching as series of Dracula themed Stamps for the autumn season of 1997
